Effective 16 October 2026 · Operated by Nexlite Digital Solutions Limited
In short: we collect what the app needs to run your buying records, we do not sell your data, and you can ask to see, correct or delete it.
1. Who we are
AgriBuy Connect is run by Nexlite Digital Solutions Limited ("Nexlite", "we", "us"), a company registered in Zambia and based in Mansa, Luapula Province. This policy follows Zambia's Data Protection Act No. 3 of 2021. For the account and billing details you give us, we decide how the data is used (we are the data controller). For the farmer, purchase and warehouse records that a buying company enters about its own business, that company decides how the data is used and we process it on the company's behalf.
2. What we collect
Account details: name or company name, location, phone number, your chosen sign-in ID, and your password. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we cannot read them.
Farmer records: name, phone number, location, crop, gender, whether the farmer was previously unbanked, and, only if provided, NRC number. Field staff or farmers can enter these.
Business records: purchases, quantities, prices, payments, advances, receipts, contracts, warehouse intake, agent links and commission figures.
Location: GPS coordinates when a farmer is registered or a purchase is recorded, used to help detect fraud. Your device asks for permission first. If you decline, the app still works, but those records carry no location check.
Messages: in-app messages and notifications between users.
Billing records: plan, subscription status and fee payments recorded against your account.
On your device: a local copy of your data and a queue of changes made offline, stored in your browser or app storage, plus a cached copy of the app so it opens without a network.
3. How we use it
To run the app: sign you in, show each user the records they are allowed to see, and sync work done offline.
To calculate commissions, balances and platform fees, and to manage subscriptions.
To check records for errors or fraud, such as mismatches between agent-logged purchases and warehouse intake, or purchase locations far from where a farmer is registered.
To give support, keep the service secure, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who can see it
Your own company, agents and staff: a buying company sees its own farmers, staff, purchases and linked agents. An agent sees the companies they are linked to. Field and warehouse staff see only what their role needs. A farmer sees their own sales, quantities, buyers and payment status.
Nexlite administrators: we can see account, subscription and link records to manage billing, approvals and support.
Service providers: Google Firebase (sign-in and database hosting), Google Fonts (loads the app's typefaces, which means Google receives your IP address), GitHub Pages (hosts the app), and Median (packages the Android app).
Authorities: when the law requires it.
5. Where it is stored
Records are stored in Firebase, whose servers may be outside Zambia. By using the app you understand your data may be transferred and stored abroad. We rely on our providers' security measures and on contract terms with them to protect it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep records while your account is active and for as long afterwards as needed for business records, disputes, billing and legal duties. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask for earlier deletion (see section 8).
7. Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, accounts are separated so that users can only read what their role allows, and database rules limit who can write what. No system is completely secure. Keep your password private and sign out on shared devices.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, object to or restrict how it is used, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. If your data was entered by a buying company, we may need to pass your request to that company. Email skumbeni@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Zambia.
Buying companies and agents who enter farmer details must have the farmer's permission to do so and must keep that information accurate. See the Terms of Service.
9. Children
AgriBuy Connect is for adults aged 18 and over. Do not register anyone under 18.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell users in the app.
