Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NEXLITE DIGITAL SOLUTIONS LIMITED (trading as Spike Trading and General Dealers) collects, uses, and protects personal data through the MotoConnect Zambia platform ("Platform"). We are committed to compliance with the Zambia Data Protection Act, 2021.

1. Data We Collect

When you use the Platform, we may collect:

• Personal identifiers: Full name, NRC number, phone number, home area/neighbourhood.
• Vehicle information: Vehicle type, driving licence number, vehicle registration number, operating zones, operating hours, preferred subscription plan.
• Vehicle photos: Images of your vehicle, if you choose to upload them during application.
• Payment references: Airtel Money or MTN Mobile Money transaction IDs (we do not store account PINs or full payment credentials).
• Application notes: Any additional information you voluntarily provide in the notes field.
• Usage data: Device type, browser, approximate location (if you permit), and interaction logs for platform improvement.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To process and manage your rider application and subscription.
• To display your profile (name, vehicle type, zone, availability) in the public rider directory.
• To contact you via phone or WhatsApp regarding your subscription, renewal reminders, or application status.
• To verify payment and issue renewal notices.
• To improve and maintain the Platform.

3. Public Directory & Listings

If your application is approved and your subscription is active, the following information will be visible publicly on the MotoConnect Zambia rider directory: name, vehicle type, operating zone, availability status, operating hours, and contact phone number. By submitting an application, you consent to this public display. You may request removal at any time by contacting us. The same public-display consent applies to approved Advertiser listings described in Section 4 below.

4. Advertiser Data

If you register as an Advertiser, we collect: business name, category, contact number, operating zone, logo/image, promotional text, subscription tier, and payment transaction reference. This information is displayed publicly in the Nearby Deals section and, for Featured/Premium tiers, in the dashboard banner. We do not share individual user data (names, phone numbers, location) with Advertisers. Advertisers may see only aggregate, non-identifying statistics (e.g. approximate number of views in their zone) if such a feature is introduced in future.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Cloud service providers: We use secure third-party cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase) to store and sync rider and advertiser data across authorised devices, in accordance with industry-standard security practices.
• Platform administrators: Staff authorised to manage the Platform.
• Legal authorities: Where required by Zambian law or a lawful order.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your subscription is active plus a period of 12 months thereafter, unless you request deletion earlier. Expired or rejected applications and advertiser listings may be retained for up to 6 months for administrative purposes.

7. Your Rights

Under the Zambia Data Protection Act, 2021, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
• Withdraw consent at any time (this may result in removal from the directory or Nearby Deals listing).
• Lodge a complaint with the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA).

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted cloud storage and access controls on restricted parts of the Platform. No system is completely secure; please contact us immediately if you believe your data has been compromised.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

The Platform uses browser localStorage to store data locally on your device for offline functionality. We do not use third-party advertising networks or behavioural ad-tracking. MotoConnect Zambia displays paid listings from local businesses ("Advertisers") directly, based only on the zone you are browsing — we do not share your personal data, browsing history, or contact details with Advertisers.

10. Permissions Used by the App

• Camera / Photo Gallery: Used only if you choose to upload a vehicle photo or business logo during application. Never accessed without your action.
• Location: Used only if you tap "Detect" to auto-fill your nearest operating zone. Never collected in the background.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data, please contact us for immediate removal.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" above. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
